Helen M. McCann has owned and operated Helen M. McCann, CPA, P.C. since 1987 and has been a Certified Public Accountant in Oregon since 1982. She received her BS in Accounting and Business Administration from California State University in 1978. Prior to becoming certified, Helen worked as a corporate accountant for a large multi-national corporation and as a Taxpayer Service Representative for the IRS.
Helen also served as Director of Auditing Services for Oregon Credit Union League (now The Credit Union Association of Oregon) from 1982 to 1985. During this time Helen provided auditing and accounting services for numerous credit unions throughout the Pacific Northwest. This experience has given Helen the opportunity to see first-hand the many different ways credit unions function successfully and the many different ways they resolve operational problems.
After deciding to expand her practice in 1990, Helen began to offer individuals tax and accounting services. This tax practice has since expanded to include many local small businesses and individual tax clients. She now offers these services through the offices of Fiducial Business Centers, Inc.
Helen is also a QuickBooks® Professional Advisor specializing in assisting businesses in managing their QuickBooks® accounts and software.
To stay current on issues and changes in the Credit Union regulatory environment, Helen regularly attends the AICPA Annual Conference on Credit Unions and pursues a variety of other continuing education opportunities through professional organizations.
Helen M. McCann is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Oregon Society of CPAs, and the Oregon Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
